Senior Associate, Operations Management
Gerry has spent more than 40 years as a senior manager in such industries as software, logistics, automation systems, instrumentation, engineering, construction, and petrochemicals. He has held positions as COO, CFO, General Manager, and Senior Vice President. A pro-active financial, operations, and program manager with a strong process orientation, he holds a B. S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Akron and an MBA from Baldwin Wallace College, and has also done graduate work in biology. He has held certifications as a Project Management Professional and a Professional Engineer.
Gerry is an expert in management systems and procedures, corporate finance, and strategic business and product planning, including mergers and acquisitions. At several different companies, he successfully defined and implemented critical work processes and built multi-functional teams, resulting in a five-fold increase in revenue and corresponding profitability. His international business experience includes work in several countries of the Former Soviet Union and West Africa, where he managed the activities of a Nigerian Board of Directors, provided financial oversight for a Nigerian subsidiary, and presented a software development proposal to the Nigerian National Assembly.
After service as an Air Force officer managing a propulsion research facility, Gerry joined the Ashland Chemical Company as a senior process engineer. He held progressively more senior positions at several companies, working in engineering, operations, and marketing before joining Technology Management Company, where he served as General Manager, COO and CFO for ten years. Most recently, he has served as Senior Vice President and CFO of a privately-held software company in the career and education planning industry.
